- Last weekend was a cracker at Manly. Saturday saw the boys and
girls re-dig the poles into the sand. Carl was there as usual, taking
control of the riffraff.
This year though saw the introduction of the machine. No more spades,
a hole digger was used to excavate the sand. Some of the lads got
a little carried away with the use of the drill. It seems that there
are a few too many holes and a lack of eyelets.
The nets were set up on the Sunday morning and games began. There
are now 6 permanent courts at Manly. One up on last year. But if
you think you will have an easy day at the beach, forget it. The
poles are nice and high !
Well done boys and girls.
A rumour on the beach yesterday was that the new promoters of the
Pro Tour, International Quarterback, didn't get their submission
into the proper people in time and there will be NO TV for the summer.
Except for a 1 hr highlights episode later in the summer. I guess
some things never change....
